Egypt circus
Egypt, the circus and this ridiculous woman: a rare white tiger has “mysteriously disappeared” from the Anousa Kotta Circus in Marsa Matrouh. Kotta — widow of a composer turned animal exploiter — pretends to be shocked. Shocked? She should be ashamed.
She parades lions and tigers as stage props for money. Last year, one of her lions mauled a trainer so badly his arm had to be amputated. Kotta was sentenced to prison. Now she claims surprise when another tiger vanishes from a cage. The only mystery is why Egypt circus culture is still tolerated.
Circuses are factories of neglect. White tigers, selectively bred and inbred for vanity, are not rare — they are commodities. As our cornerstone on zoos and tigers shows, captivity breeds nothing but cruelty. Tigers in cages do not inspire wonder, they inspire pity.
Egypt circus abuse must end. Every tiger deserves a forest, not a stage light. Until then, more deaths, thefts, and scandals will follow — because abuse breeds chaos, not control.
